In perhaps the first drinking game in history a knight and a German duke drank each other’s homebrews till only one was left standing. Defeated and embarrassed, the knight blamed a passerby “bock” (German for goat) for his fall. In jest, the duke dubbed his beloved beer “Bock,” and his recipe lived forevermore. And we’re glad it did, because Dundee’s take on the German classic combines the trademark malty-sweetness of a bock with the crisp, clean finish and bite of a Pale. And though we don’t recommend you drink it till you fall, if you do slip, Pale Bock is a worthy scapegoat.
